Dreams aren’t big enough if they aren’t scary. This statement has been running though my mind for months now. And it all started when the #mlhseniorrolemodels and I chose Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte as one of the charities we would volunteer our time to.
Our mission is simple.
Raise money and awareness for local charities.
Our dream is HUGE. Design, Build, and Run a Walk-A-Thon to complete our mission.
Holy cow. Here we go.
Myself and two of our event team leaders met for a brainstorm sesh and we all walked away with our hearts racing in excitement and anticipation. We know that it’s going to take a village to ensure the success of this event, but it’s nothing that our team can’t handle. We are a determined group of young woman and our hearts our big for this charity. Our event is scheduled for Saturday November 4th. I am excited to share more details about our event very very soon. We are currently seeking corporate partnerships. We are looking for businesses who care about their community and support helping others. If you own, work for, or know of a company like that please let us know.
A few weeks ago we took a humbling tour of the RM House in Charlotte.
Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte provides a safe, affordable and caring “home-away-from-home” for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities. Families are stronger when they are together, and this is never more important than when a child is sick or injured. By offering families a haven less than one mile from our partner hospitals, we increase their ability to spend more time with their child, interact with their clinical care team and participate in critical medical decisions.
We were so inspired by the charity, their mission, and the support they receive from the community.
It’s incredible that we will have the chance to be a part of their support community.
We have not only set out host the Walk-A-Thon event, we will also be cooking two meals in January for families staying at the house.
We are also actively collecting pop tabs for the house.
The house will cash in the pop tabs and use the money for house needs.
We were able to donate over 20lbs of pop tabs this month!!
